    Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission ( TNPSC ) was formed in 1957. It was formerly known as Madras Public Service Commission . It is mandated with the task of recruiting persons for various services of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, including State, Subordinate and Ministerial Services. It is headed by the Chairman and comprises of fourteen other members, all appointed by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in accordance with the above provisions of the Constitution of India.

    TNPSC invites applications for the post of Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade –II and the details are as following :

    * ASSISTANT PUBLIC PROSECUTOR ( GRADE – II )

    Total no. of vacancies : 83 posts
    Code : 1797
    Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with grade pay of Rs. 5400/- ( PB – 3 )
    Age limit : Candidate should not be more than 34 years of age as on 1st July 2011
    Qualification : Candidate should posses B.L. Degree of any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant and should be a Member of the Bar and must have had active practice in Criminal Courts for a period of not less than 5 years. And also should have adequate knowledge of Tamil.

    Last date for the receipt of application : 15th march 2011
    Date of written examination : 23rd and 24th July 2011
    Examination fees : Rs. 125/-
