Central Institute of Fisheries Technology ( CIFT ) was established in 1954. It is a research institute for all disciplines relating to fishing and fish processing. Its branches are at Veraval (Gujarat), Visakhapatnam (AP), Burla (Orissa), Mumbai (Maharashtra). It develop designs for fuel efficient fishing vessels and fishing gear for responsible fishing.

CIFT Cochin invites applications from Indian Nationals of for the following posts :

1. T-1 ( Junior Laboratory Assistant )
   No. of posts : 6 ( OBC – 2, General – 3, ST – 1 )
   Age limit : Minimum 18 and Maximum 30 years of age
   Pay scale : Rs. Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with grade pay of Rs. 2000/- ( PB – 1 )
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed matriculation examination and should posses minimum 1 year of certificate from a recognized institution in Aquaculture/ Fisheries/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry along with the Knowledge in Computer Application.
   Experience : Experience in Microbiological analysis including media preparation /biochemical analysis is desirable.
2. Lower Division Clerk
   No. of posts : 4 ( General – 2, SC – 1, OBC – 1 )
   Age limit : Minimum 18 and Maximum 27 years of age
   Pay scale : Rs. Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with grade pay of Rs. 1900/- ( PB – 1 )
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed matriculation examination along with proficiency in Typewriting at a minimum speed of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi. And knowledge of computer application is desirable.

Last date for the receipt of application : 30 days from the 19th February 2011
Application fees : DD of Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit – CIFT” payable at Cochin.
