Name of the Scheme Jan Shree Bima Yojna Sponsored by State Government Funding Pattern Initially Rs.200/- per member is to be shared as under:- -Premium to be paid by members (i.e. Rs.75/-); -Premium to be paid by State Govt.(i.e. Rs.25/-);& -Balance 50% of premium to be borne by Social Security Fund (i.e., Rs.100/-). Ministry/Department Labour Department Description To provide life insurance protection to the Rural and Urban poor persons below poverty line and marginally above poverty line. Beneficiaries Individual,Family, Benefits Benefit Type Others, Other Benefits In the event of death of the member, the sum assured will become payable to the Nominee. Eligibility criteria 1)Persons between 18 & 60 years of age; (2)persons under BPL and even persons marginally above poverty line may be covered, provided they belong to identified vocational groups. Minimum membership should be 25 How to Avail Since it is a Group Insurance Scheme, a Master Policy is issued in the name of a Nodal Agency, which can be Labour Welfare Officer/ Asstt Labour Comsnr/Dy.Labour Comsnr/Jt.Labour Comsnr of the District concerned. Validity of the Scheme Introduced On 15 / 08 / 2005 Valid Upto 31 / 12 / 2012
