BJP Says Electronic Voting Machines for its poor performance
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been turned into the Electronic Victory Machines by the Congress in the recently held assembly elections.
“We have received numerous complaints of tampering with the EVMs and bulk voting by the Congress from many regions,” said BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
Reacting on BJP’s allegation, the Congress said the BJP should introspect instead of blaming the Congress.
“The BJP has nothing else to say but to blame the Congress,” said Sachin Pilot, Congress leader.

Maharashtra Election Results, Sharad Pawar credits Congress policies for Maharashtra win
Sharad Pawar added that a decision on the chief minister’s post “would be taken by the Congress party” and he did not want any problems from his party on that front.
Pawar said the combine had done particularly well in rural areas. “Congress and NCP are doing very well and the response in rural Maharastra has been extremely good - there we have gotten more response than what was expected,” Pawar told reporters as he left his residence here.
The NCP-Congress combine had leads in 135 seats of the 288 seat assembly in the state.
He attributed the success in elections to the Congress policies at the centre. “The Congress policy at the centre was implemented by our government in Maharashtra and was appreciated by the voters.”
He also admitted that his party’s individual performance was “impressive” and that critics who predicted that the party would fair poorly were wrong.
“NCP has fared well. We have a strong base team of youngsters who are working hard and the voting percentage of our party is impressive,” Pawar said.
Discussing the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) denting the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party combine, he said: “We had expected them to get 10-12 seats.”
Pawar justified his ‘retirement options’ saying that his party was “encouraging the younger generation”. He said: “Our generation has the reponsibility of encouraging newer leadership.”

Chautala wins two seats By defeats Haryana finance minister
Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala Thursday won both assembly seats he contested from — Uchana Kalan, where he narrowly defeated Finance Minister Birender Singh, and Ellenabad.
Chautala pulled off a tough win Thursday when he defeated Birender Singh of the Congress in the Uchana Kalan assembly seat in Jind.
Chautala defeated Birender Singh by a margin of just 621 votes on this seat in what is perhaps the biggest contest among all 90 assembly seats in the state.
Birender Singh, a powerful Jat community leader from Jind district, was aspiring to be chief minister if the Congress returned to power.
Chautala won the Ellenabad seat in Sirsa district by over 16,400 votes, defeating his Congress rival.
