ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY
1) First Year Engineering
Candidate should be an Indian National and should have passed the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharshtra State
Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum
50% marks (minimum 45% in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to Maharshtra State only) in
subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together. AND obtained non zero score in Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics at MHT-CET 2010.
OR,
Diploma holders who have passed the diploma course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 50% marks from
the Polytechnic affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics in Maharashtra State OR Diploma
Holders who have passed minimum three years course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 50% marks and
medium of instruction as English from the outside of Maharashtra State.
2) Direct Second Year Engineering (D to D)
Diploma holders who have passed the diploma course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 60% marks from
the Polytechnic affiliated to MSBTE or AICTE approved autonomous Polytechnics in Maharashtra State OR Diploma
Holders who have passed minimum three years course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 60% marks and
medium of instruction as English from the outside of Maharashtra State.

Government seats
Admission process for Government quota seats will be carried out as per the schedule declared by the
Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai (Maharashtra State) from time to time. Students are also
advised to see the website of Directorate of Technical Education,
www.dte.org.in/fe2010.

The detailed admission process for Institute / Minority candidates will be notified on announcement from
the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State. All the relevant details for admission for Institute /
Minority candidates will be displayed on college notice board and on college website (www.rcpit.ac.in)
from time to time.
• The principal of this institute will invite applications for the Institute / Minority seats available by giving
publicity in the leading newspapers.
• Aspiring candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria given above should apply directly to the Principal.
• Such seats will be filled by institute strictly on merit basis at institute level.

FEE STRUCTURE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-11
For Government Quota / Minority Quota / Institute level seats
o At the time of admission, the student will have to pay interim fee of Rs. 71,000 (tuition fee) and
Rs. 4,000 (development fee); TOTAL FEE of Rs. 75,000/- for the academic year 2010-11.
o However, this fee is subject to final revision of fee from Shikshan Shulka Samiti, Mumbai. As per
DTE Information Brochure 2010 regarding fees prescribed in Un-aided Engineering colleges,
student will have to pay the fee for the academic year 2010-11, as decided by the Shikshan
Shulka Samiti, Mumbai for this institute.
o Further, student must have to pay the additional fee in case of any further increase in fee for
the academic year 2010-11 as per the final revision of fee declared by the Shikshan Shulka
Samiti, Mumbai. This additional increase in fee will have to be paid by the student within
prescribed period as mentioned by this institute. Admitted candidate will have to submit an
undertaking regarding the same, at the time of admission.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
Institute Discipline
1. Students must carry their Identity Card on person when in the institute premises and produce it on demand.
2. It is mandatory for the students to wear their Uniform while entering into college premises. The Uniform consists of
blue jeans, white half sleeves T-Shirt with collar (Jeans and T-shirts must be purchased from college co-operative
store), white sports shoes and white socks.
3. It is compulsory for students to attend the institute from the day of opening to the last day of each term during
the academic year.
4. Regular attendance for theory and practical is a must. In case the attendance is found to less than 75% classes
of theory, practical, drawing etc., the term will not be granted and he/she will not be allowed to appear for the
University Examination. Students who fail to submit satisfactorily all the assignments, jobs, journals drawings, reports
and term work files as specified by the University within the stipulated time limit will not be allowed to appear in
the University Examination. In both cases students shall have to seek readmission to the same class in the next
academic year. Thus he / she will lose one academic year.
5. Student should behave respectfully to the teaching and non-teaching staff within and outside the institute
premises, otherwise they are liable for disciplinary action.
6. Students must pay the stipulated fees within the given time span.
7. Students must report regarding their change of communication address if any to the departmental and institute
office. Institute will not be responsible for any loss of information due to any change of communication address.
8. All the students must participate in extracurricular activities that the institute organizes from time to time.
9. All the students must convey about their absence to the concerned HOD / Local Guardian in case of illness or
any other emergency cases.
10. Any rule by the University such as 'imposing limits on the number of attempts permissible to pass any examination'
shall be binding on the students.
11. Ragging is strictly prohibited within or outside of institute and hostel premises. Any student found guilty in this case
shall be expelled from the institute and hostel. The fees will not be refundable in such cases. (Ref. Maharashtra
Provision of Ragging Act 1999.)

12. Any student found indulging in anti-social activities, creating nuisance or any other mischief like strikes,
demonstrations etc. within the institute will be expelled from the institute. The fees will not be refundable in such
cases.
13. Principal of the institute has the right to expel a student from the institute for any infringement of the rules of
conduct and discipline prescribed by the institute or University or Government and the instructions given above.
14. Parents are required to visit the institute / hostel whenever requested by the Principal.
15. Smoking, chewing tobacco, consuming alcohol or taking drugs is strictly prohibited in the institute as well as in the
hostel. If any student is found in inebriated condition, he/she will be suspended / expelled from the institute /
hostel.
16. Students who seek admission to RCPIT are bound to abide by the rules and regulations of institute as well as hostel
as stated in brochure and also those laid down by the Principal from time to time.
17. Student must purchase all stationery required for their term work and note books (registers) from institute's cooperative
stores only
18. Students should not keep their valuable items like mobiles, jewellery etc with them while in the institute. The
Institute shall not be responsible for any loss of valuables items.
19. All disputes pertaining to the admissions, cancellation of admission, refund of fee etc. shall fall within the
jurisdiction of courts at Shirpur only.
Hostel Discipline
1. Hostel Admission will be based on First-Come-First-Serve basis.
2. Allocation of room will be made by the Rector.
3. Any hostel inmate found indulging in anti-social activities, creating nuisance to fellow inmates or any other
mischief will be expelled from the hostel. The fees will not be refundable in such cases.
4. During college sessions, no student should be found in the hostel otherwise he/she shall be liable for strict
disciplinary action. In case any hostel inmate wishes to leave the hostel, he/she should obtain prior written
permission on the prescribed form from the Rector/Principal.
5. Absence from hostel without prior written permission will lead to strict disciplinary action and may even lead to
expulsion from hostel.
6. Any magazine, poster or literature of objectionable nature found to be in possession of any student will lead to
expulsion from hostel.
7. Students must pay the stipulated fees within the given time span.
8. Students must report regarding their change of communication address if any to the office. Hostel will not be
responsible for any loss of information due to any change of your communication address.
9. Hostel inmates are not allowed to use cell phones in hostel.
10. Boys Hostel students shall not leave the hostel before 6am and shall return to the hostel by 10pm. Ladies Hostel
students shall not leave the hostel before 7am and shall return to the hostel by 7.30pm.
11. Hostel mess charges should be paid in advance before the start of every month.
12. No student is allowed to celebrate birthday or any other function without prior permission of the Principal and the
Rector.
13. Students should not keep their valuable items like mobiles, jewellery etc with them while staying in hostel. The
Institute shall not be responsible for any loss of valuables items.
14. Hostel deposit shall not be refundable if the candidate causes damages / loss to the infrastructure of hostel.

ACTION AGAINST RAGGING
Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 which is in effect from 15th May 1999 has
the following provisions for Action against Ragging.
a) Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is prohibited,
b) Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets, or propagates ragging within or
outside any educational institution shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term up to
2 years and / or penalty which may extend to ten thousand rupees.
c) Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution
and such student shall not be admitted in any other educational institution for a period of five years
from the date of order of such dismissal.
d) Whenever any student or, as the case may be, the parent or guardian or a teacher of an
educational institution complaints, in writing, of ragging to the head of the educational institution, the
head of the educational institution shall, without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, within seven days
of the receipt of the complaint, enquire into the matter mentioned in the complaint and if, prima facie,
it is found true, suspend the student who is accused of the offence, and shall, immediately forward the
complaint to the police station having jurisdiction over the area in which the educational institution is
situated, for further action. Where, on enquiry by the head of the educational institution, it is found that
there is no substance, prima facie, in the complaint received, he /she shall intimate the fact, in writing,
to the complainant. The decision of the head of the educational institution shall be final.
e) If the head of the educational institution fails or neglects to act in the manner specified in section "d"
above when a complaint of ragging is made, such person shall be deemed to have abetted the
offence and shall, on conviction, be punished as provided for in section "b" above.
